Welcome to The Canadian Tax Resource Blog

The Canadian Tax Resource Blog is an income tax, personal finance, investment and career website with articles about a variety of topics, current events, and product reviews. This blog is a venue for me to share my experience and views on a variety of topics with others. While I am a professional accountant, I am by no means an expert on all topics, but I am positive you will find this site useful and informative.
If this is your first visit, visit the home page and read some of my articles or visit the links in the sidebars where you will find articles sorted by categories and more. Feel free to contact me with any questions, tips or ideas for articles.
I am a professional accountant with over 15 years of experience in financial services. I began my career as a bank teller right after university and then worked for a few years as a trust administrator in a major Canadian trust company.
In 2002, I decided to pursue a professional accounting designation and moved to a investment brokerage where I held senior accounting analyst and senior finance manager positions. This was a great opportunity for me to work in the back office and learn how the business really works. Some of the more notable opportunities I have had include:
A couple of years ago, I had the unique opportunity to move into a marketing role and establish a new financial planning, estate planning and tax support team.
I am married and have four children ranging in age pre-school to their twenties.
